My take on the Book:
To start, I applaud the author for the great beginning of the book with – ‘in another universe’ chapter! I was literally blown out with this new way of starting a novel. ‘Alumni of the Year’ novel is a nostalgic read and takes us through the memory lane of our childhood and school days in a beautiful way! I was surprised how accurately, the author has narrated the rat race journey of us human beings be it professional or in our personal lives. Writing is very simple and the narration is witty-headed and fast-paced. building of Characters is well-plotted and I liked how the story beautifully narrates the protagonist and his struggles- in getting his promotion and the troubled relationship he has with his wife and daughter.
Also adding to this, his journey from being an atheist to a believer makes it an amazing read! I can relate to him and the story 100% as I also have a tedious work-life balance. some books not only give a great story but also gives great life lessons and ‘Alumni of the year’ is one such book. Overall this book is a light , evocative and refreshing read that can be finished in just one sitting 🙂 and I am so glad I picked it up!
