About the Book:
‘People will leave. Even the good ones do. The music will stay.’ This is what life has taught Ragini. A struggling music composer who left the world of Hindustani classical music in Delhi to do her own kind of music in Bangalore, Ragini is impulsive, emotional and often a little lost. The typical creative type – or so Andrew thinks. The head honcho at a mega Pharma company, Andrew is half-British, half-Indian and a full-on ‘propah’ pain. Even if he’s gorgeous. The typical corporate type – or so Ragini thinks. He needs her to compose a song for the company’s silver jubilee. She needs him (well, just his project really) to be able to keep doing her music. They can definitely do without the sparks they set off in each other. Or the highs and lows and all the conflicting notes that being together seems to bring. Because love is off the table for him. And music is her only love. Can two stubborn people from such different worlds ever find harmony together?

My take on the Book:
You see that feeling of Petrichor- when your nostrils are hit with a pleasant smell of the first raindrop hitting the earth, that’s how the romantic story in the book made me feel. It’s that typical ‘opposites attract’ story line but the best part is that it’s not regular or cliched anywhere. Also, those musical touches in the book are like a silver lining to the cloud. It has got everything to it. Broken childhood, troubled parents, hesitant to fall in love because of both the leads past and the scenic beauty of Shimla and Kasauli is to die for. I loved the chemistry between Ragini and Andrew. It is woven like how a song is composed. I also applaud the authors’ command over musical knowledge and it’s evident how much she is passionate about music.
The plot is very simple yet captivating and narration is engaging till the end. I had a constant smile on my face throughout the story and I am also in love with Andrew’s golden flecks in the eye. He sure can be a heartthrob to many girls out there if the story makes it onscreen. Character building is top-notch and it really made me feel I’m watching a cozy Bollywood Romantic movie which I know for sure has a happy ending! Overall it’s a fabulous story and I would recommend this book to everyone for its amazing love story! It’s a perfect amalgamation of harmony of music and the corporate world!
